About us
Heavy Commercial Vehicle Insurance Specialists
We’re not a generalist brokerage that dabbles in trucks.
This is all we do, and we do it properly.
About Us
HCV Risk Consultants exists for one reason:
To provide specialist insurance advice and placement for businesses operating in high-risk, hard-working sectors that generalist brokers often fail to understand properly.
We focus on heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs), plant and machinery, transport fleets, goods in transit, and the liability exposures that come with them. That focus matters because in this industry, details are not small. Tracking requirements, excess structures, load types, driver profiles, claims history, vehicle use, and policy exclusions all affect whether your cover performs when it counts.
We know that because this is the space we work in every day.
Built out of frustration. Backed by specialist knowledge.
HCV Risk Consultants was founded on a simple frustration: transport and plant business owners were being underserved by generalist brokers who did not understand their risks, their operations, or the specialist products designed specifically for them.
Too often, businesses in transport, logistics, construction, mining, and plant hire were being placed into policies that looked fine on paper but fell short when tested in the real world. The cover was structured badly. Excesses were misunderstood. Tracking conditions were missed. Exclusions were only discovered at the claims stage. And the broker who sold the policy often could not explain the difference between proper cover and a problem waiting to happen.
We set out to fix that.
Our team brings together years of hands-on experience in heavy commercial vehicle insurance, plant and machinery underwriting, and transport risk management. We understand this industry from the inside: the claims, the exclusions, the tracking requirements, the excess structures, the insurer appetite, and the real operational pressures our clients deal with every day.
That knowledge shapes everything we do.
We work independently, which means we represent you, not the insurer. Our job is to understand your operation, assess your exposure properly, structure the right cover, and make sure you know exactly what you are buying. Then, when something goes wrong, we step in and do the work that a broker is supposed to do.
We are not here to sell a policy and disappear. We are here to build long-term insurance structures that support real businesses in demanding environments.
Our Values
Great insurance starts with the right advice and the right people behind it. Our values reflect our commitment to specialist knowledge, integrity, accountability, and lasting partnerships built on trust.
You will always know exactly what you are covered for, what you are not covered for, and what it will cost you at claim time.
We believe clients should never be left guessing about exclusions, excesses, policy conditions, tracking requirements, or insurer expectations. We explain the structure clearly so you can make informed decisions and avoid surprises later.
Every policy, every claim, every time.
We don’t just underwrite risk, we manage it with precision. Our focus on speed, accuracy, and results ensures your business stays on the move.
When something goes wrong on the road, on site, or in transit, you need a broker who picks up the phone and gets moving. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
We take ownership of our role, especially when the pressure is on. Our clients rely on us for action, clarity, and follow-through when it matters most.
Insurance is a long game. We build lasting partnerships with our clients, reviewing cover annually and keeping them ahead of risk changes in their business.
As your fleet changes, your contracts grow, your routes expand, or your machinery profile shifts, your insurance structure needs to keep pace. We stay involved so your cover continues to fit the business you are running now, not the one you were running two years ago.
